How to Plan a Small Halloween Minifigure Display

Plan a compact Halloween MOC with a clear focal point, readable figures and optional fantasy details. Compare what each set includes before adding scenery.

Brick-built autumn ruins, pumpkins and a winding path in a Halloween landscape

A small Halloween minifigure display works best when you choose one mood, one focal point and a clear viewing angle before buying more pieces. Start with a playful costume scene or a shadowy fantasy scene, then add only the figures and props that help tell that story. You do not need a complete village to make the scene readable.

A recent r/lego Halloween village discussion shows collectors thinking about additions and inhabitants for seasonal displays. It is a useful inspiration signal, rather than evidence of industry-wide search volume. The plan below is an original layout proposal; it is not a report of a completed or tested build.

Choose the mood and check the set facts

Choose a cheerful costume gathering if you want expressive faces and bright colors. Choose a quiet fantasy archive if you want dark silhouettes and a small story detail. These are alternative starting points: you do not have to buy all three products below.

Starting point Confirmed listing contents Display idea
Five T-Rex costume figures Five figures in gray, yellow, orange, pink and green, with the costume heads and tails pictured in the listing. A playful costume queue or a small gathering.
Nine hooded shadow warriors Nine ABS figures at standard minifigure height, with the nine swords and hood/cloak accessories included. A mysterious procession approaching an archive.
Twelve magic-book accessories Twelve decorative book accessories. Exact dimensions, material and opening mechanisms are not confirmed. A colorful focal detail for a fantasy library.

The products are sold separately. Walls, shelves, flooring, lights and display bases mentioned in this guide are props you supply; they are not included with these listings. Check actual parts and available space before designing a fitted shelf or attachment.

Plan three small zones

Use a paper sketch of your available surface and divide it into a foreground, a focal area and a background. Keep the foreground open enough to see feet, tails and accessories. Place the story detail off-center, and keep any backdrop behind the faces rather than across them.

  • Costume gathering: place two figures at the front and three slightly behind. Turn the group gently toward the same meeting point. Leave room for each tail instead of forcing a tight straight line.
  • Fantasy archive: place one or two hooded figures near the books, with the remaining figures forming a loose approach. A simple backdrop can suggest a room without enclosing every figure.

The number of figures displayed is your choice. Keeping some figures outside the scene can be more effective than filling every gap. Look at the arrangement from the shelf's normal viewing height before building a tall background.

For a larger focal point, browse Halloween MOC display models and compare the hooded reaper model with the clown model. These models are sold separately from the figures and accessories discussed here; check their own product pages for included items and confirmed size.
