Brick-built ancient Roman courtyard with columns, an arch and open pathways

What is a clear way to display a chariot and legion together? Give the horses and chariot a visible central route, then divide the soldiers into two escort groups. The Roman Chariot & Legion set combines eleven figures, two horses, one chariot and the pictured gray base, so the vehicle can be the focal point instead of being hidden behind a crowded line of shields.

Confirmed contents and limits

The Roman Chariot & Legion MOC Display Set contains eleven figures: ten silver-helmet soldiers and one gold-helmet commander. Two horses, the chariot, pictured harness and connectors, the gray studded base and all pictured equipment are included. Eleven is the figure count, not the total piece count. Exact dimensions, total building-piece count, material and measured figure height have not yet been confirmed for this set.

The name describes a Roman-inspired toy display. Treat the costume and vehicle styling as a MOC theme rather than a claim of museum-grade historical accuracy.

Pick one composition

  • Formal escort: split the ten soldiers into two groups of five beside the central vehicle. Leave the commander visually distinct.
  • Departure scene: angle the horses and chariot toward an open edge of the base. Put the escort slightly behind, suggesting the start of a journey.
  • Display lineup: keep the vehicle toward the back and bring the soldiers forward in a shallow arc so shields and helmets are easier to inspect.

Check available space on the supplied base with the actual pieces. Do not use this guide to infer a shelf width or a stud count.

Plan and assemble the display in stages

  1. Separate the groups. Set aside the commander, ten soldiers, horses, vehicle components, connectors, equipment and base. Compare them with the Listing image before starting.
  2. Inspect the vehicle parts. Dry-position the chariot and horses to understand the intended arrangement. Use any instructions actually supplied with your order; this guide does not invent a connector-by-connector build sequence from a single image.
  3. Check the horse and chariot spacing. Gently check the actual harness and connector fit. Do not force a connection to make it match an image angle.
  4. Place the commander as the focal character. The gold helmet provides a visible distinction. Keep enough space for the commander and the displayed weapon.
  5. Add the escort in pairs. Work outward from the vehicle so the composition remains balanced. Face the shields toward the viewer and leave the horses unobstructed.
  6. Move the finished scene by its base. Support the base rather than lifting the display by a figure, horse or thin accessory.

Optional MOC additions

A short road, low arch or camp entrance can explain where the escort is going. Keep an arch behind the chariot so it does not block the horses in a front photograph. A few scattered terrain elements can establish scale, but dense scenery may hide the shields and vehicle.

For a clean product-focused photograph, use a neutral background and a three-quarter viewpoint. For a narrative scene, frame the open route ahead of the horses. The road, arch and camp scenery are suggestions for your own build and are not added to the package by this guide.

Common questions

Are the horses and base included?

Yes. Both pictured horses and the pictured gray base are included, together with the chariot and all pictured equipment.

How many figures are there?

Eleven: ten silver-helmet soldiers and one gold-helmet commander.

What can I compare it with?

The White Knight Wagon set uses a different wagon-and-escort theme. Compare it in the white-knight escort guide and browse Building Sets & Bricks for vehicle-centered displays.
